How Nammo works
A quick guide to how the app works and how to get help if needed.
Nammo is one piece of Italy a day: a short, expert-written read about the country’s art, food, history, language, places, culture, films, music... then you get back to your life. Setup is minimal, 30 seconds max. This page walks through how each part of the app works and how to reach us if something isn’t quite right.
The daily piece
Each day there’s one new piece waiting for you, on the Today tab. It’ll usually take a minute or two to read. When you’ve finished, tap Fatto (= done) at the bottom, and you’ll land on Casa, your home base. That’s the whole daily rhythm: a piece, a tap, done. There are no streaks to keep and no penalty for missing a day.
Find out more. Some pieces have a deep dive (we promise at least one per week), a longer read that tells even more about the day’s piece. When one exists, you’ll see a card inviting you to read it. Deep dives are part of Nammo+ (see below).
Your map of Italy
As you read your map of Italy fills in, your own personal giro d’Italia. Reach it from the bicycle icon on Casa. Each region is a shelf of associated pieces, split into what you’ve read and what you haven’t, so you can go back and read any of them any time. It’s a library and a record of where you’ve been; as time goes on, you’ll unlock bonus content related to the map pieces.

Saving, loving, and your wishlist
Save. Tap the bookmark on any piece to keep it. Your saved pieces live in Saved, on Casa, so you can find a favorite anytime.
Italy fingers. The 🤌 is a quick way to tell us you liked the piece, helping us learn what our readers really enjoy.
Your wishlist. Some pieces invite you to add something to your “My Italy” wishlist — a place to visit, a dish to cook, a film to watch. Your wishlist lives on Casa, and you can tick things off as you do them.
Catching up
Miss a few days? No biggie. Call me again, on Casa, serves up pieces you haven’t seen yet, whenever you feel like reading more than one. It’s there for the days you want to linger, not a backlog to clear.
The Sunday quiz
Once a week we publish a short quiz drawn from that week’s published pieces, a fun way to see what stuck. All Nammo users can take the same quiz and see the (anonymized) leaderboard, but again, it’s just for fun.
What’s happening
What’s happening, on Casa, is a list of upcoming or ongoing festivals, events and seasonal moments across Italy. You can use it to help plan a trip or or just for a bit of dreaming.
Your daily call
With notifications on, Nammo sends one gentle nudge a day to let you know the new piece is ready. You choose roughly when: morning, midday, evening, or night. Change the timing (or turn notifications off) at any time in Settings. If you skip the prompt when you first open the app, you can still turn them on later.
Your account
Nammo works from the moment you open it — no sign-up, no password. Your map, saves and reading history are yours right away, kept privately against your copy of the app.
Adding your email (or using Apple / Google sign-in). There’s no password anywhere in Nammo. If you add your email or sign in with Apple or Google, it turns your account into a permanent one, so your map and saved pieces follow you to a new phone or survive reinstalling the app. Think of the email as a way back in, not a login. You can add it in Settings at any time.
Deleting your account. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time — open Settings and tap Delete my accountat the bottom. This is permanent: your name, email, saved pieces, wishlist, map and reading history are removed for good and can’t be recovered. If you subscribe to Nammo+, be aware that deleting your account doesn’t cancel the subscription; you must manage that in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
A note on switching phones. Until you add an email or sign in, your Nammo lives only on your current device, so add one before you switch phones if you’d like your map, saves, wishlist, etc. to come with you. Reinstalling without a saved account starts you fresh.
Nammo+
Nammo is free, and the whole daily experience — the piece, your map, saving, your wishlist, catching up, the quiz — stays free. Nammo+ is an optional subscription for people who want more: it unlocks every deep dive and removes ads. You can subscribe from the app, and manage or cancel any time through your App Store or Google Play account. Adding Nammo+ always attaches it to a permanent account (email, Apple, or Google).
Restoring a subscription. If you’ve subscribed before — on a new phone, say, or after reinstalling — use Restore purchases in Settings to bring Nammo+ back.
Ads
The free app shows occasional ads. They’re contextual, rather than being built from a profile of you or your actions in the app (or elsewhere, for that matter). You can read more in our privacy policy.
